TWP 1500 Series Stain and Preservative.  VOC compliant in all states. Sample can to evaluate colors.  Please limit your selections to four or fewer after reviewing the color charts.

TWP 1500 Series is a wood preservative that prevents structural damage and wood decay on exterior above ground wood surfaces such as untreated or previously treated fencing, decking, wood siding, log homes and roofing. TWP 1500 series also resists water absorption that causes warping, cracking and splitting as well as preventing freeze damage in colder climates. TWP 1500 is compliant in all 50 states. TWP 1500 series can be used on all wood types including cedar, redwood, ipe, mahogany, pressure treated, douglas fir, and other species.

Coverage rate: 200-400 square feet per gallon.

Coats: The 1500 series requires 1-2 coats

Life: TWP 1500 series can last: Decks 2-3 years, Vertical: 2-4 years depending on your environment/climate.

Application process: can be applied with a pad, sprayer, brush, or a roller.

TWP 1500 series need to be applied between 50-95 degrees Fahrenheit. For best results clean your wood first with a high quality wood cleaner and/or brightener.

One Coat: Apply TWP to dry clean wood, if new wood let it age a minimum of 4-6 weeks. Apply one even medium coat, allow 30 minutes to pass and wipe up any excess that may still be present on the wood.

Wet on Wet (2 coats): 2 coats are not necessary, but will provide additional penetration and protection for a few more months. Wet on Wet 2 coats process requires you to put the second coat on immediately after the first. If an hour passes DO NOT put a second coat, this will likely cause the stain to puddle on top and create a film, which will peel over time. If you cannot do 2 coats immediately after each other then wait until the following year to apply another coat.

Dry Time: at least 24 hours, depends on temperature and humidity.
Previously treated wood: TWP 1500 series will work best on previously treated wood if the old finish is completely removed, including wood previously treated with TWP. Remove previous stain with a high quality stripper.

Stain samples are the only way to really know what color you're going to get. I'm glad that we tried it out before our staining project.
