Duckback Wood Grain 5700 Fiber Cement Siding Stain - 5 Gallon

Enhance the wood texture of manufactured siding to create a sophisticated and multi hued natural look instead of a flat painted surface. Wood Grain Earth Tones is formulated to subtly blend two tones to create a natural look to composite or fiber cement siding. The breathable finish is flexible so that it moves with the siding and wont crack or peel, and hard enough to withstand installation without mars or scratches.

This professional grade coating has excellent coverage and hide that provides maximum durability and protection against efflorescence, UV and water damage.

Duckback 5700 Data Sheet

  • Unmatched beauty and durability
  • Designed for use on all composite and fiber cement siding and trim
  • Prefinished boards allow for installation in all climates and temperatures

How does this product make fiber cement siding look like wood?

Fiber cement siding can be made with an embossed woodgrain texture as shown in the photo below. Duckback Natural Wood Grain, when applied to siding laid horizontally, goes on thicker in the "valleys" of this profile, and thinner on the "peaks". It is this difference in film thickness that creates the wood grain look.Fiber Cement Siding Stain

5 of 5 Cement board stain October 8, 2017
Reviewer: S Knapp from Portland, OR United States
I purchased this stain to use on Primed Hardi Plank.  I couldn’t be happier with the results.   The finish  seals the planks and looks like natural wood.  I applied to the planks on saw horses and stacked them when dry with lath boards wrapped with shrink wrap between each layer.  No marring or marks.  The stain is very durable.  Touch ups during installation blend very well with the finish too.  This is a great alternative to painting if you want your home to look like real wood siding.

5 of 5 New version of Woodperfect July 15, 2013
Reviewer: Larry F from South Lake Tahoe, California
I used to use the Woodperfect and it's been discontinued.  Fortunately it has been replaced by this product, and the 5700 seems to work well.

You do have to use a primer in order to get the warranty now.  Other than that, the colors of the new product are very similar (5701 is like 6701, etc) but it does seem like it's a little easier to work with.  We'll see how it holds up but if you use the primer they claim a 7 year warranty for field application.
