Messmer's Timberflex Interior Clear Satin
Messmer’s Timberflex Interior wood finish is available in a clear satin finish. It is an oil based finish that is designed to seal and protect interior wood surfaces, while maintaining a natural appearance. This is a product designed specifically for interior use. Two Coats are recommended for new work in most applications, you should allow 4 hours dry time between coats. The quick dry satin finish provides a washable clear coating for easy maintenance. This product is suitable for logs, tongue and groove wood, and wood paneling on walls and ceilings.
It has a coverage rate on rough wood of about 150-250 sq. ft. per gallon for the first coat, and 200-300 sq. ft. per gallon for the second coat. For smooth wood the coverage rate for the first coat is 200-300 sq. ft. per gallon, and 300-400 sq. ft. per gallon for the second coat.

Surface temperature should be at least 50 F and not more than 90 F. We recommend doing a test area on your project to insure your satisfaction with appearance before proceeding with the entire job.
Timberflex Interior is for interior surfaces only. Do not use in areas exposed to weather. Do not use on floors or any other walking surface.
Start with a clean surface Make sure the wood surface is clean, dry and in good condition. If necessary, use a good quality wood cleaner to prepare the surface. Any loose, peeling or flaking previous finish should be removed completely to bare wood.
Apply the first coat. Cover any other areas you don't want finished. Stir product thoroughly, making sure that all solids are mixed evenly and there is no thick material at the bottom of the container. Apply one coat of Timberflex Interior following label directions. Allow at least 4 hours for the product to dry.
Apply the second coat of the same product Apply a second coat of Timberflex Interior after the first has dried. Product will begin to build a film on the wood with the second coat. Allow at least 4 hours to dry. Cooler temperatures may require longer drying times.
Clean up Following label directions, dispose of waste including roller covers and brushes in a water filled container. Seal the container and dispose of it properly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I have to use two coats? A: We recommend two coats as a minimum. Only using one coat could cause an uneven appearance and compromise the longevity of the product.
Q: Can the product be used over stained wood? A: Yes, provided that the stain has thoroughly cured and doesn't contain any additives which would prevent adhesion.
Q: Can I use Timberflex Interior on wood floors? A: No. The product is not designed for this purpose.
Q: Can I use Timberflex Interior outside? A: No. It is strictly for interior use. For exterior wood, use Messmer's Timberflex designed for exteriors.
Maintenance
