These brushes are great for staining large projects. It's a little big for hand held work unless you have large hands, but works really well with a pole.

I have used this brush for deck staining using an extension pole. In my opinion these work great for large deck surfaces and apply the stain better than a roller or pad. I clean mine with paint thinner and re use it rather than throwing it away like some applicators.
